This year’s Southwest Chapter ABATE of Florida’s annual motorcycle run to the Douglas T. ABATE of Southwest Florida is a non-profit organization of motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life that lobbies and educates the government and the public to promote motorcycling with a safe and positive image.

ABATE’s annual Christmas ride is its signature event of the year. More than 150 ABATE riders and friends participate in raising funds and providing gifts to the residents.

ABATE is seeking the public’s assistance in fulfilling its goal of bringing holiday cheer to our veterans. This may be done by monetary contributions or by bringing a Christmas stocking filled with unwrapped gifts of items such as toothpaste, socks, candy, magazines, razors, shaving cream, etc.

Registration will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on December 19 at Sun Sports, 3441 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers. There is a $5.00 registration fee per bike or vehicle. The group will leave with a police escort at 12:15 p.m. and return around 3:00 p.m.
