Missouri High School Students’ Science Fair Project May Help Prevent Football Head Injuries

The scientific talents of high school students are evidenced each year at local science fairs. This year a couple of students from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri created a device that goes outside a football helmet called the “shock absorber.” This could be a game changer as prior to now efforts have centered around the improvement of the padding inside the helmet.

National Dog Bite Prevention Week takes place during the third full week of May each year. This year it is May 15-21. The week focuses on educating people about preventing dog bites. There are estimated to be 70 million dogs living in U.S. households. With so many dogs, many adults and children are bitten by dogs every year.
