Thousands of people are anticipated to participate in one last summer fling as Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. According to AAA (American Automobile Association) in 2015, nationwide, 35 million people traveled at least 50 miles from home over the Labor Day holiday weekend. 30.4 million traveled in their motor vehicles.

But along with the festivities comes more people on the road, and with the drinking comes a greater chance of deadly crashes. This claim, they say, has been scientifically proven. On the other hand, they say traffic light intersections are more space-inefficient.  

Can Kombucha Impair Driving Abilities?

Although Kombucha is not sold in liquor stores, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau tested some samples, and they were above the .05 percent alcohol-by-volume threshold for nonalcoholic drinks. The Food and Drug Administration legally requires any drinks that have more than 0.5 percent alcohol content to be labeled alcoholic.  

Despite More Safety Features in Vehicles, Traffic Fatalities Rose in 2015

Associated Press (AP) reported on July 1, 2016 that preliminary government data released this month showed traffic fatalities surged last year. Even though there have been vehicle design improvements and advancements in traffic safety, the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Administration) says that preliminary estimates show fatalities rose 7.7 percent to about 35,200 in 2015. This makes 2015 the deadliest driving year since 2008.
