Check for Home Safety Hazards

June 27, 2013 | Category: Defective Products | Share

"Checking for home safety hazards should be routine.  However, with busy lives this may not always happen. Since June is National Home Safety Month, this is a good time to review what should be done to protect families from unforeseen dangers," says Florida Defective Products Attorney, Randall Spivey of Spivey Law Firm Personal Injury Attorneys, P.A.

Check for Home Safety HazardsHome Safety Checklist is a good place to start.  Real Simple - Life Made Easier provides a checklist which covers areas such as:

      • Electrical Cords and Outlets
      • Home Heating
      • Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
      • Fire Extinguishers
      • Escape Plans
      • In Homes with Small Children
      • Burglar proofing

USA.gov has made it easier to keep informed about recalled products and safety hazards with a cell phone app Recalls.gov

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the threat of strangulation from window blind cords and heavy furniture tip-over are two of the top hidden dangers in the home for small children.
