Lehigh Acres, FL (October 28, 2019)  A 15-year-old teen was hit around 6:25 a.m. while walking to her bus stop in Lehigh Acres, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.   

“The bus was slowing down and was going to stop, so the driver sped up, and then my sister, she was walking and right when the bus stopped the car hit her," said the victim's sister.  

The victim's sister and her friend said they were on a bus that was about to leave for Lehigh Senior High School. The victim said she was walking to her bus stop, just up the road, to Gateway Charter High School. 

“I didn’t really see anything at first. I couldn’t really breathe. And then I just remember getting my vision back, and I was just looking at the grass," the victim said.

The FHP is investigating the accident.
