Florida News Alert – Port Charlotte Man Tragically Dies in Crash
March 31, 2020 | Category: Florida News Alerts | ShareCharlotte County, FL (March 31, 2020) William Slater, 69, tragically died in an early morning crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Troopers report that Mr. Slater was driving east approaching El Jobean Road after 5:00 a.m. Zahid Butt, 30, was approaching the intersection going south.
When Mr. Slater drove through the intersection, Mr. Butt’s vehicle slammed into the left side of Mr. Slater’s car. Mr. Slater was taken to Sarasota Memorial North Port Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
FHP says it is unknown at this time whether the crash was alcohol-related.
