Florida News Alert – Three Injured in North Port Accident
February 7, 2020 | Category: Florida News Alerts, Truck Accidents | ShareNorth Port, FL (February 7, 2020) The Florida Highway Patrol reports that three people have been taken to the hospital after a crash on I-75 in North Port, near Kings Highway.
A tractor-trailer traveling north on I-75 started to hydroplane and went off the road, slamming into a guard rail. Ramon Reyes, 46, the driver then went back onto the road, crossed over the left and right lane, and into the path of another tractor-trailer driven by Julio Hernandez, 53.
During the events of the crash, John Clements, 50, a pedestrian, was attempting to help the driver of the first semi that hydroplaned and was struck when the second semi collided with the first one.
All three sustained minor injuries. Reyes and Hernandez were taken to SMH North Port, while Clements was taken to Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Charges are under investigation.
