In Case of Emergency - Let First Responders Know Your Contact Information - ICE Your Phone™

January 3, 2013 | Category: DUI Accidents, Motorcycle Accidents | Share

According to CTIA - The Wireless Association ® as of June 2012 there were over 325 million mobile phones in the United States, more than the population in the 2012 census (313 million).  There are times when these mobile phone users could be in automobile accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents ,  DUI accidents or accidents of any kind and end up in the emergency room.  Should they be incapacitated and not responsive, it would be difficult for paramedics and/or first responders to notify relatives or designated contacts.

Since the summer of 2005, ICEsticker.com (In Case of Emergency) has distributedworld-wide hundreds of thousands of ICE Your Phone™ stickers. These stickers allow emergency responders or paramedics to contact a designated relative or next of kin if such a situation were to occur.

Here's what ICE Your Phone™ recommends doing:

  • Choose a responsible person to be your ICE contact.  Record their information on your phone.
  • Inform your ICE contact that you have chosen them as your designated contact and provide them with information that may affect your treatment.  (Remember to provide your medicine, allergies and doctor information.)
  • Add this contact as a new entry, with their phone number, in your mobile phone address book under the heading "ICE".  Example: ICE-William or ICE-Dad.
  • Apply an ICE Sticker™ to the back of your phone.  This will serve as a visual alert that you have established a communication protocol.
