Road Trip Checklist for Holiday Travel

December 17, 2020 | Category: Automobile Accidents | Share

A spokesperson at the American Automobile Association (AAA) says the best guide for predicting December holiday travel during the COVID pandemic is to look at the summer 2020 travel forecast where it was expected that more than 700 million trips would be taken from July through September. This is a decline of 15 percent over 2019.

The American Safety Council reports that Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays in America with many employers giving workers time off regardless of their religious affiliation. During the Christmas holiday, most traffic accidents happen between the afternoon of Christmas Eve and the evening of Christmas Day.

If travelers consider taking to the roads, RVShare.com spokesperson Maddi Bourgerie says, “More than half of travelers (in a recent poll) said they would consider renting an RV to visit family and stay in a family member’s driveway or nearby campground to social-distance.”

A Fort Myers car accident attorney at Spivey Law Firm, Personal Injury Attorneys, P.A. is sharing a road trip checklist from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) so drivers may have a safe holiday:
