Spivey Law Firm Main Sponsor of the Southwest Florida ABATE 2019 Veterans Christmas Ride
November 19, 2019 | Category: Firm News, Motorcycle Accidents | Share“Our veterans protect us, ensure our liberties, and allow us to lead our lives every day knowing they are there for us. These heroes come home to regain their lives. Some veterans live together in group homes. One of these homes is the Douglas T. Jacobson Veterans Home, 21281 Grayton Terrace in Port Charlotte. During the holidays, the Southwest Florida chapter of ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) has an annual Veterans Christmas Ride. We are pleased to be the main sponsor of this 2019 event,” said Port Charlotte Personal Injury Attorney Randall Spivey of Spivey Law Firm, Personal Injury Attorneys, P.A.
According to the chapter, the annual Veterans Christmas Ride is its signature event. Previous rides have included over 150 bikers and friends who raised funds and provided gifts to the resident veterans of Jacobson Veterans Home.
When ABATE motorcyclists arrive at the veterans’ home, they are greeted by many seated outside anticipating their arrival. Many of the riders are also veterans, which makes this event even more special.
The ride leaves from Sun Sports in Fort Myers. There is a $5 fee per bike and no fee for a passenger. Kickstands are up at 12:15 for the police-escorted ride to Port Charlotte. Registration goes from 10 a.m. until noon. A $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast starts at 10 a.m. As always, ABATE asks participants to bring a stocking filled with small things such as shaving cream, toiletries, and things of that nature to leave under their tree.
If you have yet to do this ride, you are missing out on an amazing experience to give back to veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.
The Southwest Chapter of ABATE is a “…non-profit organization of motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life. ABATE promotes motorcycle safety, training, and political awareness.”
