Spivey Law Firm, Personal Injury Attorneys, P.A. has proudly supported for the last nine years the Gateway Soccer Association whose goal is, “to be able to provide a stable platform in which the children in our neighborhoods could learn and develop their soccer skills, in an environment structured around their enjoyment, first and foremost.”

Gateway soccer runs two main seasons per year; one in Fall (September – November) and one in the Spring (March – May). Each season is 10 weeks, and there are age groups broken into two year bands (Under 4, Under 6, Under 8, Under 10, etc). 

Gateway Soccer’s philosophy, as a recreational soccer program, is to first act as an introduction to the sport, and then as a developmental program trying to teach the fundamental techniques, to a point where the player can move past the recreational level, and into a competitive program or school team.

Soccer in the United States remains a popular activity. The U.S. Youth Soccer organization reports that there are more than 3,000,000 registered players between the ages of five and nineteen in its organization.
